Philosophy and Comments

What is the Transpersonal Movement?

The Transpersonal Movement began in California in the late 60’s where it grew out of the vision and pioneering spirit of several Humanistic Psychologists including Abraham Maslow Ph.D. Maslow and his colleagues believed that there was a need to embrace an expanding sense of consciousness. That growing awareness had been stimulated by the influence of Eastern Philosophies and ways of healing which were being introduced to the West at that time.

The growing Transpersonal Movement from the 60’s and 70’s up until present day has helped birth what we know as the holistic, Mind-Body approaches to health and well-being.

A Transpersonal Approach to Psychotherapy and Life.

"Life, a precious creative journey with infinite possibilities waiting to be revealed."

I was recently given the challenge of describing core beliefs that would allow me to share my approach to life and my work and I was restricted to using only 12 words. This short poem is what emerged from my intuitive imagination within moments of that challenge. It still rings true. It has certainly symbolized the continuing unfolding of my journey through this rich tapestry of being human.

Ms. Spike's fee for individual sessions is set at $95.00 per hour. Her consultation fees for organizational trainings and workshops are established through agreement of both parties. Telephone consultation fees are $90 an hour regardless if you are in the United States or Europe or Asia.
